In motorsport, to manufacture components with the best performance they must be optimised to a set of characteristics. These consist of strong, lightweight, consistent and most of the time low quantities. All of these can be achieved exceptionally well with additive manufacturing.

For a long time 3D printing has been used in the motorsport industry for rapid prototyping and mock ups. But in the last few years as technology has changed and the ability to print with high performance polymers and composites has become readily available, we are seeing more and more uses for AM in motorsports as usable components.
